Another thing that ASC did was install this gray sound deadener. Basically, this stuff is big glob of gray goo with a paper backing. Several sheets are used in layers to build up the floor where the backbone attaches to the top of the tranny tunnel down to the firewall. Interestingly enough, the paper has the words 'NOISE CONTROL' printed in a pattern on it, although it is quite obvious what is it really used for.

Eagle eyed viewers may have noticed an area in the right front where I peeled up the Ford factory sound deadening. When my son was removing the carpet on this side of the car, I saw the floor was pushed up in this location. Upon removal of the sound deadener, I was saddened to see this jagged hole in the floor. It looks like someone jacked up the car in the wrong location and tore a hole in the floor. Luckily, this happened sometime after the car was removed from the road since there is no rust in this area.

But, there is some rust in the floor.  None of it life threatening for the McLaren, though. There are about a dozen or less pinholes in the right rear floor. All of which will be an easy fix.  The driver's side is better with just a little surface rust to be taken care of

Here is a look at the door panel with the ASC arm rest removed. It looks like a haphazard butcher job. Both the door and the door panel were painted with black paint in the areas that cold show through the opening in the armrest. Definitely not quality work here. I have never been a fan of these huge arm rests, but they will be going back on the the new door panels that I have found.
